Thank you for your interest in partnering with
Little Talkers Speech and Language Services
for your universal child-find communication screenings.
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
We will coordinate with you to schedule your screening day(s). Screenings will be conducted only for children ages 3-5.
A business-to-business contract will be developed and sent to the primary contact for the childcare provider. The contract must be completed before the preferred screening day can be confirmed.
We will provide information and consent forms to send home to families. Consent forms must be completed and returned one week prior to your screening day(s).
A minimum of 5 and maximum of 25 children may be screened per screening day.
The cost of screenings is $25 per child plus $50 nonrefundable per diem administrative fee. Administrative fees must be paid in advance to reserve your preferred screening date(s).
While childcare providers are free to pass along these costs to families, Little Talkers Speech and Language Services will NOT bill families directly. The childcare provider is the responsible payor and will be billed for all services.
The speech and language pathologist (SLP) will arrive to setup at approximately 8 a.m. and will continuously conduct screenings for up to 25 children throughout the day, with a 30 minute lunch break if appropriate.
The SLP will coordinate with centers to ensure children are seen in a timely manner with the least amount of disruption to your daily routines.
Screenings must be conducted in a semi-private space to minimize distractions to children during screenings. Staff are welcome to be present during screenings, but groups of children must be supervised in a separate area.
The SLP is a trusted partner who has no criminal background. They will be well on the day of screening and will maintain appropriate universal precautions during screenings. The SLP regularly engages in trainings related to the health and safety of children and is considered a mandatory reporter.
While the SLP will engage in best practices for safely screening children, the childcare provider retains all liability for the safety of children while onsite and during screenings.
Each family will be provided an initial report outlining all screening elements and findings to send home the day of the screening.
For children found to be at risk of a communication disorder, detailed information about next steps for formal evaluation through Little Talkers Speech and Language Services, as well as other local entities will be provided the day of the screening.
Childcare providers will be provided with a summary of the children screened and those who were found to be at risk of a communication disorder.
Childcare providers are asked to complete a debrief survey to provide feedback about what went well and what could be improved for future partnerships.
Returning childcare providers are granted VIP Status and scheduling preference for future years.
Childcare providers will receive monthly email communications with strategies and tips for preschool educators seeking to maximize communication skills for their little talkers from Little Talkers Speech & Language Services.
